Tim Thorpe is the CEO and Global president of HCT Group. Prior to joining the company in 2000, Tim was an options trader on the LIFFE floor. In 2000, Tim’s father asked if he would join the family business. At the time, he thought it would be an interesting challenge to take on a new business. After working on the East coast, Tim decided to focus on new emerging brands in California and founded HCT’s office in Santa Monica in 2003. Tim has been driving the vision for HCT since 2014 when he was named CEO and Global President. Tim’s leadership fosters an environment that values entrepreneurship, innovation and customer service.
Jenny Hsu is the Chief Strategy Officer at HCT Group. As CSO, she works with the global executive management team to set and oversee HCT’s short, mid and long term goals. Prior to joining HCT in 2007, Jenny worked in marketing for a small magazine publishing company and before that had a brief stint at Netflix as part of the newly-formed Electronics Streaming team. Jenny started her tenure at HCT as a project manager and launched the Stock Innovation Program in 2009. Jenny is from Los Angeles and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Literature & Culture from UCLA. Jenny’s passion for the industry and judgement are integral in leading marketing, operations, innovation and legal at HCT Group. Jenny likes reading fiction, baking, and following sports – she is an avid Lakers fan and follows Formula 1 racing.
Jim Illson is the Chief Financial Officer at HCT Group. As CFO, Jim oversees HCT’s global finance operations. Jim started his career in business as a consultant with Deloitte, specializing in Finance. Prior to joining HCT in 2016, Jim served as CFO for a cosmetics contract filler, which provided him with experience in the cosmetics industry. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Management from Purdue University. Jim likes to get involved in understanding what is happening operationally in the business. This provides a deeper perspective on what the financial numbers mean, and allows him to work more effectively with the HCT Team, clients and suppliers.
Denis Maurin serves as Executive Vice President of Sales and Innovation at HCT Group, overseeing sales on the West Coast and driving global innovation. Denis started at HCT in 2006 in the HCT France office as a mechanical engineer, then became the Packaging Development Manager. After working with French brands for 5 years, Denis moved to the Santa Monica office, where he was initially in charge of key accounts and programs. In 2015, Denis continued to develop major accounts and became more involved with packaging innovation.
Mohsin Asaria began his career in beauty after graduating from a university in Belgium with degrees in Chemical Engineering and Cosmetic Science. In 2005, after working with Estee Lauder and Coty, Mohsin joined HCT Group as the Technical Development Manager. He has remained at the company ever since, and is now the head of HCT Europe, managing regional teams in France, Spain, Dubai and the UK. Throughout his 20 years in the industry he has obtained a 360 knowledge and understanding of the entire development process, from concept to delivery, giving him the ability to help and work with all customers, from startups to retailers. Most importantly, Mohsin really enjoys helping others, whether it is managing and motivating his internal team, or through local community organizations and volunteer work.
Megan Langdon is the Global Director of Design at HCT Group. Megan leads HCT’s eclectic creative team in the development of thoughtful visual and form solutions for the beauty industry. She a design lead that values HCT’s passion for innovating as well as the company work ethic and culture. As the first designer in what is now HCT’s headquarter office in Santa Monica, CA., Megan helped to develop the aesthetic as well as build the success of emerging boutique and luxury brands, several of which are now trend setting powerhouse beauty brands. Megan holds a Bachler of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design from Carnegie Mellon University. She is passionate about developing solutions that defy industry norms and creating visually iconic and thoughtful packaging. She also enjoys seeking inspiration from surprising sources ranging from kitchen gadgets to high fashion runways. While a lifelong Californian, Megan has a passion for travel and exploring natural and metropolitan wonders in new and exciting places.
Jeremy Wilson is the Design Director and driving force behind some of HCT client’s most iconic pieces. Prior to joining HCT seven years ago, Jeremy was a designer at Cool Gear, where he won an IHA award. His design background includes architecture, housewares, furniture, and cosmetics. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design with a minor in Graphic Design from CCAD. Being able to listen, understand, and comprehend what a client wants is crucial to Jeremy’s success as well as striving to create original concepts. Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys traveling, snowboarding, fashion and sports as well as spending time with his two bunny rabbits, Bobby and Brownie.
Adrian Apodaca is the Global Director of Engineering at HCT Group. Originally from Denver, CO, Adrian graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. With over 12 years of engineering experience in the cosmetics industry, Adrian made a name for himself by heading the technical development for key HCT clients on the West Coast. Now in charge of worldwide engineering operations, he leads the global engineering team with supplying key innovation and industrialization solutions for client needs. With an eye for detail and great technical creativity, Adrian and his team are prepared to take HCT to ever higher accomplishments in the beauty industry.
Alberto Acquati is the Senior Vice President of Product Sales and Development. Alberto’s career in the beauty industry began in 1994, in Milan, where he was the Marketing Director for one of Italy’s top contract manufacturers’ for color cosmetics. Before officially joining HCT in 2007, Alberto worked in the cosmetics industry as an Export Manager and Sales Director attending more than 100 international shows all around the world and actively expanding business towards new market places such as US, Russia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and China. In his current role, Alberto handles HCT’s US turnkey operations, product supply chain management, US turnkey launches and global product innovation.
Tony Zhang is Vice President of Sales, Asia. Tony joined HCT about 5 years ago, and has been instrumental in expanding HCT Group’s footprint in Asia. Tony is a cosmetics packaging vet with 15 years in the industry under his belt. He was born in Tsingtao, north of China, which is famous for Tsingtao Beer. Tony attended college in China and then went on to complete a Master’s Degree in the Netherlands. Currently, Tony is based in the HCT Group Shanghai office. Outside of the office, Tony enjoys being with his family, reading books, learning languages and going to the gym. He believes that every day is a fresh day and that life is amazing.
Arnaud Audebourg began his career in beauty specifically in the plastic injection industry when he was just 24 years old. Since the beginning, Arnaud knew that one day he wanted to work for a company that was a supplier to the iconic brand, Guerlain. For this reason, joining HCT was a clear choice. Currently, Arnaud works as the Managing Director for HCT’s Paris office. He has remained in the industry for over 26 years and has used his knowledge and experience of working with different materials to help him excel in the fields of management and sales. He is driven by the relationships and trust that he builds with customers and fellow employees to continue to contribute to and grow HCT’s business each day.
David Greco is Executive Vice President of New Business Development. Dave’s career started after graduating from DeSales University in 1989. As his father was a prominent figure in the personal care industry (VP of Sales for a Packaging company called Tubed Products, Inc.), he encouraged Dave to join the industry as well. After various sales opportunities in personal care packaging, covering bottles, caps, pumps, glass, tubes, and more, Dave joined HCT Packaging, Inc. in 2006. Dave focuses on cosmetic packaging as well as expanding the business on the East Coast to both large and emerging brands, offering HCT’s services as turnkey solutions to help enhance customer’s visions. Dave truly looks forward to what the future brings to the industry and how HCT will help influence it.
Nicholas Mendez is the Global Head of Human Resources, helping HCT to retain top talent that allows the company to remain the global leader in cutting edge innovation, design and beauty manufacturing. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from CSUN and obtaining his SPHR certification, he went on to work for 10 years in the consumer packaged goods space specializing in recruiting, performance management, compliance, employee relations and benefits. As he continues his career at HCT he is driven by the fact that he not only gets to help people grow both professionally and personally, but also that he helps the company maximize their profits by securing top talent. Outside of the office Nick is a new dad and an avid sports fan.
